Bam started skateboarding in his early teens and idolized skaters Boulala, Penny, Maldonado, Keri Getz, Saari, Hoofbite, and more. Moving on to his education, he first attended West Chester East High School but later dropped out in the 11th grade. He has since gotten his GED.
Film Career
His older brother Jess played drums and later Bam learned the keyboard and they began making skating, stunt, and sketch videos under the band name but as an acronym CKY. Bam’s other friends would join the group including Bam’s best friend Ryan Dunn, Chris Raab, Brandon DiCamillo, and more.
Their DVD series would go on to sell more than 400k copies. This was originally through the Skate community and then through word of mouth.
Having found his passion for filmmaking and entertainment Bam had little interest in school. The success of CKY caught the eye of then skateboarding magazine Big Brother’s editor Jeff Tremaine. T
his man originally brought the idea of Jackass to MTV. In 2000 they got to work making a show and Bam was given a lead role alongside other pranksters including Steve-O and Johnny Knoxville.
