Early Life:
Riff Raff was born on the 29th of January 1982, in Houston, Texas, and is of German and Lithuanian Jewish descent. His real name is Horst Christian Simco later adopted the stage name, Riff Raff. His mom Anita Isaacs was a maid while his dad Ronald Simco was a Vietnam War Veteran.
His father suffered from severe post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) but he managed to keep food on the table for his family. Moreover, his dad Ronald worked as both a police officer and at one point a Walmart manager.
Riff Raff was the second oldest of four siblings including sisters Amber, Clair, and a younger brother named Viktor Simco. He grew up just outside of Houston in a Suburb called Copperfield. Riff Raff became obsessed with basketball, and wrestling in his elementary school.
He attended Langham Creek High School where he was a shooting guard for the basketball team and he started experimenting with hairstyles in his senior year. Career:
In 2005 Riff Raff recorded his stuff and started passing out his CDs around the Houston area. Soon everyone was curious about his music. Some popular rappers from Texas including Devin the Dude and Paul Wall are his earliest musical influences.
That was the time when Riff Raff scraped by sharing an apartment with his friend’s bonds and selling ecstasy to pay his half of the rent. He was determined to be famous and started going to auditions.
The rapper was passed over on P. Diddy’s Making the Band but flew himself up to Atlanta in 2009 for the casting of a new reality show From G’s to Gents. OG Ron C (of Swishahouse fame) started to manage him and saw his act was sincere. That is until rapper Soulja Boy scooped him up a few months later, unfortunately, no paperwork was signed and they had a falling out.
Riff Raff released his phone number as one of his freestyles which led MTV VJ Simon Rex to give him a call. He convinced Riff Raff to move to Los Angeles and even offered him a couch to sleep on. Together they formed the rap group called Three Loco along with comedian Andy Milonakis.
He convinced more artists that he was the real deal and collaborated with Rap Giants, Cheif Keef, Lil B, and Action Branson. In 2011 Riff Raff started getting popularity through his YouTube content which quickly caught the attention of S.O.D. Money Gang, Inc with who he signed. Around that time he began collaborating with the likes of Andy Milonakis, and Simon Rex.
In the following year, he decided to leave the Money Gang, Inc., and Diplo quickly signed the future star Riff Raff to his label Mad Decent Records saying finding him was like finding an Apple computer in 1971.

Breakthrough:
In June of 2004 Riff Raff released his debut studio album Neon Icon which earned him a lot of recognition in the music industry. In the support of his album Riff embarked on his Vans Warped Tour in 2015.
In June of 2015 Riff Raff stated that he is ready to release his 2nd studio album, Peach Panther. The album’s first single Spazz Out was released and was produced by American musician Travis Barker. However, the album Peach Panther was delayed and Riff Raff extended the release date several times.
During that time he was continuously releasing more tracks and mixtapes. In June of 2016, the project was eventually dropped. Riff Raff teamed up with musical artist DJ Afterthought and dropped his studio album Cool Blue Jewels in early 2018.
The guest appearances came from big names like Chevy Woods, Wiz Khalifa, and Young Buck. Pink Python was Riff Raff’s third studio album which he released in April 2019. Riff Raff followed this up with Cranberry Vampire his fourth album released in October of that year.
Other Works:
After appearing in From G’s to Gents Riff Raff made his appearance in some other shows including Ridiculousness and Betas in 2013. In the next year, he guest starred in the popular comedy game show Wild ‘n Out.
In 2015 Riff Raff got a chance to appear in an episode entitled Double Cup for the TV show, Major Lazer. In November 2017 he participated in the second installment of the MTV reality TV show The Challenge: Champs vs. Stars.
That same year the rapper developed and promoted the 2 latest strains of marijuana with the collaboration of Reef Dispensaries. Riff Raff also partnered with Daily High Club a cannabis subscription box firm and launched the Riff Raff Smoking Supply Box.
